I was in 2nd standard then, I was complaining mumma about something. She gave an intelligent solution "Why dont you write to God? He'll solve all your problems." :)
Yeah!!! Sounds good. Afterall, i have never written to God, so why not give it a try!
I sat with a paper torn from my H.W. copy (Homework Copy) and started writing.
The initial sentences were sweet and happy, but then as I got into the details of my life's problem, that too with a purpose of sharing it with 'GOD' I wrote everything...starting from
'Why mom insists me to drink milk...i hate it!'
'I dont like studies...is it so bad to score badly?'
and then the usual kid philosophy "Mum-Pa love gaurav more than me, make them love me also naa :("
And many more such complaints.
I knew in heart that this letter is a waste, it is anyways never going to reach god. Still, I was relieved as I had emptied all my anguish onto those 3 pieces of paper. And, I posted the letter behind the 'Mahavir Swamy Ji's' idol in our house.
Yeah...I was filmy from the beginning :P
I always had this letter at the back of my mind...after all...mum had taught 'sache dil se prayer karne se bhagwaan hamesha sunte hain' I used to check the backside of the statue frequently. My letter used to be there...intact!
Then one day...iT wAS GoNe!!! God took my letter :):):)
It sounded illogical, but then it was dil-logical :)
So excited i was that i revealed the secret of my letter to mumma...'maine bhagwaan ji ko letter likha and bhagwaan ji mera letter le gaye :):)'
Mom was surprised at my deed...that i actually wrote a letter to god and gave it to god.
After a few days, i again checked the backside of the idol. And and and...
What is this???
A letter?
Is it mine? has god returned it? :(
Carefully I unfolded the letter...It was not mine...it was God's .... God had posted back a reply to me..the signature said 'From God'
So happy I was....instantly started reading. Oh ma God!!! God loves me so much...he has given me a solution to everything...he told me to drink milk daily...2 times a day, that will make me score higher, god explained how mum n dad love me more than nything in this world!
I showed it to mum n dad. As far as I can remember...it was the happiest day of my childhood. Not everybody gets a letter from God!
I followed each and everything written in the letter. And the results were as promised by God!
The story should have ended very happily here...but few years later...when I was in 6th standard, my mum revealed an even bigger secret....The God was not anybody else but my dad!
My mom found that letter while cleaning the house and showed it to Dad. Both of them were so touched. My dad wrote the entire letter with his left hand so that i dont recognize his hand-writing.
My Dad...my God!!!!
Sorry...cant continue anymore.
Hmmm.... I chose to email God instead with my wishlist as an attachment. But my email bounced back, since the attachment's filesize was 235,643 Terrabytes :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyways, its indeed a very touching post.

What a sweet story. You are fortunate to have parents who were so intelligent and loving.
ReplyDeletegreat...!! mom dad bhai se jyada pyar karte hai mujhse nahi, aisa most of d time tab lagta tha jab mom bhai ki fav sabji banadeti ya phir uske milk main jyada bournvita hota.. aur jab dad kisi ek ko scotter ka round lagwa kar le aaye to samjho doosre ki insult ho jati.. really aisa bachpan kismat walo ko hi milta hai..below lines composed for this post
